High Places has brought its Hawaiian-infused indie electronica from seemingly nowhere; crowds from the warehouse parties in Brooklyn and the depths of the NYC indie underground raved until the mainstream started taking notice. Its recent DIY collection of songs was awarded the revered Best New Music tag on pitchforkmedia.com, and its live shows have been described as nothing short of transcendent.
Opening the Afterglow is PWRFL Power, who’ll serve up melodically rich, whimsical guitar riffs mixed with sweetly poetic lyrics. Then hang on for the Indianapolis shape-shifters of Grampall Jookabox, a jungle-folk show that relies on loops, deep drums, and bass to pivot lively performances, including the one at the Canopy Club last year that utterly floored the crowd.
