Enjoy a wide range of oil, watercolor, and acrylic paintings from
the Parkland College Permanent Collection, on display at the Parkland Art
Gallery now through Thursday, July 31. A free exhibit reception on Thursday,
July 10 will feature a talk by retired art professor John Ekstrom at 7 p.m.
and musical performances from Jordan Kaye and Friends. Parkland Art Gallery
summer hours are Monday-Thursday, 10-3 p.m. and 6-8 pm.

Parkland's multi-faceted Permanent Collection includes works donated to the
college through the Parkland Foundation; works obtained through its Fine and
Applied Arts student purchase awards; and pieces obtained through the
Illinois Art-In-Architecture program.
Other exhibit pieces will include high-level Parkland student-generated works
and paintings donated through the Foundation. "Many people don't realize that
we have a collection; these artworks are spread throughout the campus,"
Costello said. "It's fascinating to see some of them on exhibit as a group."
