Urge Overkill is an alternative rock duo from Chicago that formed in 1985. They are: vocalist Nathan Kaatrud, bassist/guitar/backup vocalist Eddie Roeser. Urge Overkill is most well known for their cover of Neil Diamond's "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Song" featured in the 1994 Quentin Tarantino film Pulp Fiction. Urge Overkill's first EP was produced by highly lauded producer and musician Steve Albini. At the time of the release, Kaatrud and Albini were roommates. Their first full-length Jesus Urge Superstar, was released in 1988. Their first three full-lenghts were released on famous Chicago indie label Touch and Go. Their last two albums, Saturation and Exit the Dragon, released in 1993 and 1995 respectively, were released on the major label Geffen. After the release of an unsuccessful album on 550 Music, Urge Overkill broke up in 1997. In 2004, Kaatrud and Roeser reformed the band and began to tour again. Urge Overkill is currently recording a new album.
