There's little use debating the fact that the men of Gaslight Anthem hail from the state of New Jersey. Energetic yet gritty, Gaslight Anthem’s sound has clearly been heavily crafted by a working class East coast upbringing. Despite early Jersey-based Bruce Springsteen comparisons, the band works best when transitioning between punk rock anthems and folk medleys on their 2008 SideOneDummy release “The ’59 Sound.” Though the band initially received little press, their second full-length release, “The ’59 Sound,” has received rave reviews from the likes of NME, Kerrang and punk rock fans across the world
