Punk legends The Clash dropped a bomb onto the rock music scene that is still reverberating today. They are one of the most influential bands of their genre, and bands like Green Day and Bad Religion would probably have created very different music if it had not been for The Clash. The band formed in England in 1976, with the original legendary lineup including Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, Keith Levene, and Terry Chimes. Their first show was as an opening act for the Sex Pistols. The band was signed shortly after and began to make records. Some of their most popular hits are "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" "Rock the Casbah," and "London Calling." The band broke up in 1986, but their prominence in music remains through their legions of fans and the younger bands they've inspired.
