    Perhaps best known for his role as frontman for the band Pavement, Stephen Malkmus has had a long and successful career in music. Pavement's debut album, Slanted and Enchanted, is still viewed by many critics as one of the best albums to be released in the 80s. Pavement's influence on the independent music scene was enormous. Malkmus went on to play in the band Silver Jews and has released two albums by "Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks." His solo album, Face The Truth, was released in 2005.
