The Reverend Horton Heat is a psychobilly rock band form Dallas, Texas which formed in 1985. They have been self characterized as "Country-fed punkabilly" and have gained a strong reputation for their live act through extensive touring and a manic stage presence, leading to their being characterized as one of the most popular underground acts in America. Though mostly having a more cult appeal, their music has appeared in several different mainstream mediums such as advertisements, movies, and the popular video game Guitar Hero II. They've released 10 albums, appeared on several compilations, soundtracks, released DVDs and have even had a "20th Century Masters" best of collection released in 2006.
