Refused - The EP Compilation
Known for their vegan and straight edge stances, Refused was a hardcore punk band from Umea, Sweden. Forming in 1991, they quickly released their self-titled debut album. Although Refused is from Sweden, they are heavily influenced by Washington D.C's hardcore punk scene, which is evident on stage as well as in all four albums. They broke up in 1998, after only releasing one demo, five EPs three more albums;This just might be the truth, Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent, and The shape of Punk to Come. Their last American tour in 1998 but feuding in the band cut it short, hours after a show in Atlanta,Georgia. Fred Ziomek of fellow touring band, Darkest Hour, convinced Refused to play one last set. They are known for their explosive live shows, which often ended in police raids. The last lyrics that Dennis Lyxzén ever performed with Refused, were "Rather Be Dead", right before the cops pulled the plug.
