The Old 97s are an alt-country band based out of Dallas, Texas. Headed by Rhett Miller, they formed in 1993 and have released 8 studio albums on Bloodshot, Elektra, and New West Records. Their most successful single was 1999’s “Murder (Or a Heart Attack)” and it was on Blender’s list of the greatest songs of all time. Some of their other songs have been used for various TV shows and movie soundtracks, including episodes of Scrubs. Rhett Miller has also released two solo albums, the latest being 2006’s “The Believer.”
