    Lily Allen exploded in the U.K. in what people have called the "ipod generation". She started her career in 2006 with smash singles that topped the charts in Britain. A few of her number one singles were "Smile" and "LDN". Lily Allen was taking the U.K. by storm and was gaining popularity in the US as well. Her debut album "Alright, Still" was the 27th best selling album in the United Kingdom. This British native has reason for popularity with her fun poppy/ska sound and brutally honest and some what comical lyrics.She has been nominated for a MTV award in 2007 for best new artist along with other nominations in the Brit Awards and the NME Awards. Her commercial success has gone beyond critic's expectations and will probably continue to grow.
