Breaking through the underground indie scene in Montreal, Quebec is the band Islands. Equator Records released their debut album in 2006 titled "Return to the Sea". Their album has shown to be featured by many of Montreal's famous indie rock bands. Arcade Fire and Wolf Parade both appear on the album. After their album launched they started to tour with Beck and fellow Canadian band Metric. Island's have had numerous great reviews about their performances because during their live shows they end by leading the audience outside the "pied piper" way. Unfortunately, in late 2006 drummer Jamie Thompson decided to leave the band during their European Tour. So the band has been touring with out Jamie and hopes to release a new album.
