Based out of Sweden, indie rock group David and the Citizens is the creation of leader David Fridlund and a revolving group of musicians. Started in 1999, the group has released two-full lengths and a number of EPs which have enjoyed prominent success in Sweden. Included in its successes, the band was nominated for a Swedish Grammy in the category of Best Pop Band and has played nearly every music festival offered in its homeland. With a sound that combines playful lyrics and beautiful melodies, David and the Citizens are reaching out towards other countries hoping to find the same following that they have in Sweden. Previously largely acoustically based, the group is currently working on an album which is slated to be much more on the "electric rock" side.
