    Since its formation in 1990, Blues Deacons has undergone a few lineup shuffles, but currently consists of Billy Galt taking care of guitar and vocals, Andy Burnett on drums, and Beau "Blind Dong" Renshaw on basss. Galt has been with the band since its start nearly 20 years ago, and has made a career in blues since 1980, backing artists such as Homesick James, Sonny Boy Williamson Jr., Maxwell Street Jimmy, and Shirley King (B.B. King’s daughter). The band has played many festivals across downstate Illinois and has appeared at the House of Blues tent at the Illinois State Fair. Blues Deacons has also been selected in the past by the East Central Illinois Blues Club to be a representative at "Bluestock," a Memphis celebration sampling blues acts from across the country and around the world.
